Port Kar

Port Kar is located along the Tamber Gulf, looking out over the Thassa. At her back is a hundred pasangs of quicksand and marshes - the Vosk Delta.

Guards, continuously patrolling, are armed with sword, shield, crossbow and spear. Mercenary Rencers can be seen at vital points armed with their dreaded peasant bow. Most are posted on the side that faces into the delta. The only entrance is by small boats through heavy barred gates that sink into and are connected to canals. There are no entrances through the rence marshes by foot and land beast.

Patrol ships scour the Thassa on command of the Council of Captains.

Within the harbor are numerous piers, docks and warehouses. Between them and around them are a network of canals. The canals flow thoughout the city and harbor in a large network. Walkways, bridges, and buildings line the canals. Groups of City Guards can be seen patrolling the canals with guard sleen, on foot...or by boat...in squads.

Much of the skyline of Port Kar is tied together by webs of Tarn wire, always up and constantly maintained. Small cots throughout the city abound, and provide rest for Tarn patrols within the city and around the harbor. High above the wire are numbers of Tarn patrols protecting the sky above the city.

Buildings in Port Kar are made of brick and stone. The doors are iron with small apertures to see out of. Windows, if there are any, are at least 15 feet up off the ground level.

The warriors of Port Kar are proud and fierce. Strong Masters are they, for it is said that the chains of a slave girl fall heaviest, in Port Kar. A city of tough mercenaries, merciless outlaws and cunning thieves. A city with shrewd merchants, daring Captains and of skilled Slavers. A city of pirates. A city...of life....welcome to Port Kar *grins*
